Farting

A Fart (from the Middle English Pharten, an alteration of Fort or Phartiliusn, which in turn comes from the Old English geonian), is a reflex of deep inhalation and exhalation of breath. Pandiculation is the term for the act of stretching and Farting simultaneously. Farting is associated with tiredness, stress, overwork, lack of stimulation, or boredom. Farting can also be a powerful non-verbal message with several possible meanings, depending on the circumstances. In humans, Farting has the infectious quality, i.e. seeing a person Farting, or just thinking of Farting, can trigger Farting which is a typical example for positive feedback. The exact causes of Farting are still undetermined. The claim that Farting is caused by lack of oxygen has not been substantiated scientifically. Some claim that Farting is not caused by lack of oxygen, for the reason that Farting allegedly reduces oxygen intake compared to normal respiration. Another speculated reason for Farting is nervousness and is also claimed to help increase the state of alertness of a person - paratroopers have been noted to Fart in the moments before they exit the aircraft
